I really enjoy Fall…and it appears to be rapidly approaching! Bring it on!
During my morning walks my lungs now fill with cool crisp air, my well worn walking shoes crunch small fallen leaves and the smile on my rosy colored face broadens.
The changing of the seasons shouts to my heart that God is in control, life moves forward, seasons come and seasons go and each one brings with it a new adventure to savor.
It seems that each new season floods my mind with memories of the same season years past and this gives a boost to my step.
For me, Fall means…
Cooking chocolate chip pumpkin muffins.
Camping trips that include long hikes.
Scrambling around the yard trying to catch falling leaves.
Football games.
Hours spent out back around our fire pit.
Hot tea, sipped slowly to allow the heat to warm me inside and out.
Chicken Corn Chowder slow cooking all day long.
Horseback riding with happier horses…who are not so hot.
Raking leaves…a lot…but laughing and jumping in them to make it fun.
The promise of upcoming holidays and time spent with extended family.
More teenagers hanging around the house enjoying our land and the fun we have on it.
Late night spot light tag.
Grilled foods.
Back deck sitting…and talking.
Hot chocolate.
I think I could go on and on, but what I would rather do is check out my calendar and invite family friends over and experience the changing season together. I suggest you do the same. All of God’s good gifts are better shared in fellowship.
And if you are so inclined, would you be so kind as to share some of your favorite Fall memories that are drifting through your head right now?
