Really?I do not think I have ever heard of church being "cancelled"...have you?Everything in Arkansas shuts down when winter weather moves in - I guess even church! The church we attend is up on a hill, so all roads in are up some pretty serious inclines...so the cancellation makes sense...but it still seems strange. What I am curious about is what are families doing in lieu of going to church? … [Read more...]

Snow Day Fun! (“Fat”)
Ever have one of those "fat" days where you were just daggum happy? I just did! (The "fat" is compliments of my teen daughter...she added that when I walked away from the computer...and no, I was not just insulted - that means "great" in her world!)We have some fat friends who were traveling out of town, so their four children came over yesterday and are spending a few fat days with us. (More "fat"...compliments of my daughter!) Last night and … [Read more...]
Epic Fail!
Teenagers: so quick to voice their opinions. The other day my sweet daughter, upon observing a little mistake I made while preparing dinner, made one of her humorous quips, "Epic fail," followed by a shake of the head and a slight smirk. "Excuse me?" I replied. She repeated, "Epic fail." "That sounds like a good title," I said. "I should do an "Epic fail" post ... what should I write it about?" To which she retorted, "Would you … [Read more...]
Lecrae – Music Monday
Teens love music, it speaks to them...always has.My son really enjoys Lecrae...he's put Lecrae's music on several of his X-Box games! I wonder how many parents have listened to the words this modern day prophet is getting into the ears and hearts of teens? May the Lord bless Lecrae for putting His truth into the music youth listen to! … [Read more...]
Confession Time
For over two years now I've had this secret habit of visiting a man's website. I am compelled to go there...I try to stop myself...but I just can't. What is it with that? I especially find myself going to visit "him" when I'm sad, mad or simply if I've had a bad day. He gives me what I need...I guess...to make it through the rest of my day. Is this healthy for me? Well, some people would think it was very healthy and may even be … [Read more...]
I am Thankful for those who serve
What kind of a person steps away from their own comfortable, safe, loving and busy life to go and help others in need? We all saw the answer to that question during the unfathomable events on 9-11. We are all seeing that answer now as we see video and photos from Haiti and read hurried words typed onto blog posts, twitter accounts and e-mails. As I am making dinner for my family right now I wonder about what the people of Haiti, and … [Read more...]
Photo Fun
Life seems to tick by so very slowly when I am living through the day before me. Life seems to be moving at warp speed when I bump into a box of old photos and sit, remember and smile. How did my sweet, fun, rambunctious children turn into teenagers already? How can I be looking up at both of them as we conversate? Today's treasure box of memories proved interesting. The silly grin I had on my face while reliving captured photographic … [Read more...]
Charitable Judgement in Haiti
I have spent much time lifting up prayers for the people of Haiti and for those working diligently to help them.In times of desperation and heartache love always wins out - people and organizations step up to help...and help BIG. That is a wonderfully beautiful thing and God bless them every one! However, it saddens me when I hear all the complaining about what's "not" being done. Shame on those who are complaining and pointing fingers. For anyone … [Read more...]
Pray for Haiti
As you go through your day I hope your thoughts and prayers will be with the hurting people of Haiti and those who are laboring to assist them. This is the plea of one missionary mom who is living through the aftermath of the earthquake:The sun is about to come up. The aftershocks continue. Some more noticeable than others. There is no way to even begin to share the things we’ve heard and seen since 5:00 p.m. yesterday. To do so would take hours … [Read more...]
