There are some big “goin on’s” happening in early February that you need to know about!
I trust you have heard of West Monroe Louisiana – a few guys with beards and some hand hewn duck calls pretty much put that corner of the world on the map. And the little town of West Monroe is about to be over run by large groups of women who are driving and flying in from all over the country to attend the Heart To Home conference on February 6th and 7th at the Monroe Civic Center.
What an absolute blessing it is going to be as I join Dr. Joneal Kirby, Mary Beth Chapman and the women of Duck Commander, as the emcee for this inaugural Heart to Home event.
This event is happening because the women whose lives have been enriched through Heart to Home wanted more women to know about the power of relationship found in gathering with other women and sharing life – with intentionality. Joneal has been leading this ministry for over a dozen years, working with her local church she sets up “dinner groups” of women who meet monthly to share a meal and share life. These evenings follow the Titus 2 model with older women speaking into the lives of younger women and with older women cooking for and lovingly serving their younger guests. The groups are made up of women who don’t already know each other in an effort to help relationships grow and to avoid the whole “clique” thing none of us are fond of.
There are Heart to Home groups scattered all across America and the hope is that more will form after we gather together to learn more about what God is doing in and through Heart to Home.
I interviewed Joneal and Missy Robertson over on Encouragement Cafe’ to learn more about what’s planned for the event and let me just say – the weekend will be full and fabulous. Missy will be hosting a fashion show with her new clothing line, her husband Jase will speak to the ladies (that should be interesting!) and we get to meet their adorable daughter and learn more about her Mia Moo foundation.
This past Monday I visited with Shellie Rushing Tomlinson, also known as The Belle Of All Things Southern on her radio program and she and I had such fun chatting and anticipating what God is going to do with this movement of women!
There will be teaching, encouragement, music, a fashion show and lots of surprises as we expectantly gather – I hope you will join us either in person, or via simulcast.
