Stepping Away

Hey Friends... I need a little break from media and a lota time with God...so you won't be hearing from me for about a week! I need some time in the great outdoors and away from screens - I invite you to do the same. Sometimes a girl's gotta do...what a girl's gotta do! … [Read more...]

Voice of Truth – Music Monday

In my recent interview with Mary Beth Chapman, wife of Steven Curtis Chapman - she made reference to a song her husband co-wrote (Voice of Truth) and it took me back to a time in my life when this song got me through a particularly rough time in my life. You see my husband was working some 80 hours a week (and that is not an exaggeration) and at times I thought I wasn't going to survive the strain it was putting on our marriage, our family and … [Read more...]

A Real Writer?

It may sound a bit cliche', but I write because I must. I have enjoyed writing for many years, actually most of my life. I have always written because I enjoy writing - getting thoughts out of my head and on paper. It has been amazing to me that in the last couple of years what I write actually means something to other people and is featured in publications.  It is truly remarkable to me that what I am writing is changing lives and … [Read more...]

I Will Follow Him – Music Monday

When I watched this music video it evoked emotion in me.  This is how I have pretty much gone through life feeling.  I'm supposed to be this "proper lady" who loves Jesus and so I do what's pleasing and expected of me...but I really just want to cut loose and love Jesus RADICALLY and LOUDLY in word and deed!!! A Godly man I deeply respect once told my husband..."Your wife is a little special, she's sweet ... and spicy."  I'm still … [Read more...]

Heaven Is The Face – Music Monday

I recently had the pleasure of having a lovely conversation with Steven Curtis and Mary Beth Chapman - both amazing people. If you have not yet gotten a hold of his latest DVD, you need to...all of the songs were written as they were grieving the loss of their sweet Maria. Listen, lift up a prayer for them...and spend some extra time today loving your own children. … [Read more...]

Six Year Old Shout Out

Yesterday at church the absolute sweetest thing occurred that literally made me cry. We attend services in “The Edge” which is a more contemporary, edgy and loud worship experience, so in general there are few children in there - it’s mostly their parents who attend that service. But yesterday there was a family with young children sitting right in front of us. Midway through the initial praise music the worship Pastor asked us to be silent … [Read more...]
