Hello…anyone home?

The last three weeks have been a blur for me! We traveled "home" to see family over Thanksgiving and spent the entire week visiting, eating and reconnecting. Whenever I travel back home I purposefully "unplug" from all social media and I must admit it was rather pleasant to not be constantly checking up with things on my blogs or twitter. Upon our return from all the family fun hubby and I promptly left to go to an event as representatives … [Read more...]

A-hem…Dogs Are Not People!

Take your dog to church...uh...really?How about take your neighbor to church? Or take the widow down the street, who doesn't get out much, to church? Or take a homeless person to church...and then to lunch.Your dog! Really? {sigh}Now before you go getting all "crazy mad" on me - I like dogs! A while back I wrote a post about the death of our dog, our family pet, and how very sad I was over the loss. But hey, Blaze was a dog...an a-n-i-m-a-l.When … [Read more...]

Spank That Kid!

To spank or not to spank...that is a "hot topic" question these days! This morning even the crew over at NBC's Today Show weighed in on the subject of spanking children! Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News, World News, and News about the Economy I found those mothers comments interesting. My comments back to them; never spank in anger, yelling can be more hurtful than a spanking and don't compare a teaching moment with a child to a … [Read more...]

Toddler Travel Trip

I am all about giving children life experience through travel in order to teach them about new people, places, and opportunities different than their own. We have traveled by several means of transportation to many places and we have stayed in various forms of accommodations. My children, like their mother, have become somewhat adept at the art of people watching and quiet observation in an effort to better understand the world around them. We … [Read more...]

If you have not yet heard the CD Beauty Will Rise, by Steven Curtis Chapman, I suggest you go right out and get yourself one.I just spent this past weekend with Stephen Curtis Chapman, his wife Mary Beth, and several other people who believe in what they are doing through their showHOPE ministry. Cleaning…aarrgghh!

OK, I admit it...I do not like to clean anymore. (My house that is!)In my younger days I was a bit of a clean freak, I would so enjoy some good scrubbing with a big bottle of bleach, some rags, a mop and a good deal of discretionary time.Once I became a mom, I would still do a good amount of cleaning, though not quite as thoroughly as bk (before kids) because there was so little of that discretionary time left lying around. In the last several … [Read more...]

Teens Caught School Sued??

You have got to be kidding me???I just read about a couple of teen girls who did some pretty disgusting things at a sleepover party and then posted photos of it on MySpace. As a result the photos got handed around at school, their coaches saw them and they ended up being disciplined by the coaches based on the schools conduct policy and disciplinary guidelines. The result? These two 14 year old girls sued the school.Parents of teens, if you have … [Read more...]

My Good Friend…Shannon

FRIEND FRIDAY I would like to introduce you to a friend I have had for a couple of years. She is a fun-loving mom of eight who lives her MomLife with intentionality and she is a joy to be around. Rather than waste lots of time introducing you to her...I'd rather allow you to meet her directly by visiting her blog at www.myshannonigans.blogspot.com She has also just written a post about hosting your own Free Garage Sale which will allow … [Read more...]

I Am Thankful for Sunshine

Thankful Thursday! If I could figure out just how to manage it I would spend every moment outdoors! I mean I love, love, love to be outside! God was really showing off when He put creation together!I am amazingly thankful for the sunshine! I love, love, love a bright sunshine filled day!At the risk of sounding like a whiny, complaining, three year old, I have to pout just a bit because lately the sunshine has been blotted out by lots of clouds. … [Read more...]
