It seems like such a small thing, but actually, it is pretty big - I am referring to your mattress. Now before you go crying foul because you think this is one of those blog sites that gets money for promoting things, allow me to assure it is not. I receive 0 dollars for this website – thus the non-banners on the side. And, I am not even going to plug the brand name of the mattress we purchased. I am just here to tell you that if you … [Read more...]

Daughter Love!
Remember when little girls used to play with Barbie dolls? Frighteningly society is working hard to convince our little girls (I'm talking 8 to 10 year olds here!) they need to look like Barbie dolls - now! Hair, make-up and even clothes formally marketed to women are being marketed to little girls. Can this be healthy? Join me over at MomLife Today for a video interview I did with Speaker/Author Dannah Gresh and see what she has to say … [Read more...]
I Have An Editor!!!
I spent an hour on the phone today meeting and discussing my first book project with my Editor. Hey who just hijacked my blog and wrote that? Wait a minute...I wrote that! Rejoice with me in the goodness of the Lord. It is only because He wants this book to happen that it is happening - there is no other logical explanation! Isn't that just like God to do the amazing in the life of someone ordinary? Thank you Father … [Read more...]
Pause…and Remember
Music Monday is usually the feature on my blog site on any given Monday...but today I thought it best to honor a man who chose love over hate - something we all need to do on a daily basis. … [Read more...]
Simple Day…
My day has been ordinary. My day has been extraordinary...because I shared it with my family through conversation, laughter and knowing glances that reflected love and care. These family MOMents exist daily, but sadly I don't always notice them...or appreciate them. As I contemplate the absence of "mom" in the home of Gabrielle Giffords I realize the ordinariness of every day should be welcomed. As I read the posts of a beloved husband, … [Read more...]
Being Sick Stinks, But Has It’s Perks
So - the elephant sitting on my head last week also took up residence on my chest and as it turned out I ended up with a sinus infection as well as bronchitis...and a touch of strep throat! Lovely. Here's the happy part of the story...hubby and I were scheduled to go out of town for the FamilyLife Speaker Retreat and when I asked the doc if I should still go his reply was music to my ears, "Where would you get the most rest?" ARE YOU … [Read more...]
Hug Me
I am most pleased that illness eluded our family over the CHRISTmas break! Woo Hoo! Much healthy fun occurred including sleep overs, dance parties, movie nights, dinner w/friends here, dinner w/friends at their home, bon fires, singing, game playing, hiking, comedy night, baking, cooking, crafting...we did a bit of everything. This week, school started up for my teens, I went in to substitute teach and BAM I came down with a bear of a cold. … [Read more...]
Confession
Guilty. At the risk of sounding like a pathetic loser…well there you have it, I am a pathetic loser - so who am I kidding. I did the whole comparison thing. The whole, she’s got it better than me. It’s not fair. Whah, whah. What about me? I deserve that! Blah, blah. Fail. Again. Been there? Thankfully, God’s mercies never cease – and He loves me in spite of myself. Forgive me Lord. Done. Bless her for how you have … [Read more...]
CHRISTmas Hope Realized
My Christmas memories are fresh on my mind, MOMents of life shared with my hubby and children dance through my head swaying merrily to the sound of shared laughter. Accompanied by the faint sound of Elvis singing Blue Christmas in the background. Blue Christmas… “I’ll have a blue Christmas without you.” Thoughts of family and friends who have lost loved ones swirl through my mind alongside my own joyful memories. Throughout the Christmas … [Read more...]
Texting and Driving Do Not Mix
Usually Monday is Music Monday here...however today I am posting this documentary because there is an epidemic of teens (and adults) texting while driving... and it is leading to tragedy. I implore you to have a conversation with your teen (and yourself) and resolve a text free car commitment for 2011 - that's a resolution worth keeping. It takes a little time to watch this AT&T Texting While Driving Documentary...but it's worth it. … [Read more...]
