I thought it was bad when my brothers used to get together with their friends and come up with stupid activities to participate in when they had a bit too much time on their hands! Stupid yes, overtly harmful? No. Evidently the current generation of teens have gotten into the habit of spending some time trolling through the murky videos on YouTube "researching" new and inventive ways of having stupid fun which involves danger. All in the name … [Read more...]
30 Day Challenge…For Your Daughter
My fellow blogger over on MomLife Today, Mrs. Dannah Gresh, is doing something magnificent on her Secret Keeper Girl website - she's challenging moms to spend 30 days in prayer for their daughters! Wanna commit to doing just that with me? My sweet, wonderful 17 year old daughter is entering her senior year of High School and I am all for being a part of Dannah's prayer challenge! There are more than a few decisions my daughter will be … [Read more...]

Family Reunion
Time marches on. For me that was easily and eerily obvious this past weekend when I gathered with extended family at a family reunion. How in the world can "cute little Jackson" be the father of an 18 month old? It literally blew my mind to see him chasing that little guy around the yard. Him a father...really? Wasn't it just a couple years ago that he was bragging about finally being able to drive? Obviously it was more than a couple years … [Read more...]

This Mom’s Strange Habits
Singing for no apparent reason. Making up new words to other people's songs. Talking to myself...and answering myself. Checking to "be sure" the oven and stove are turned off. Stopping by my "in box" to see if anyone e-mailed me. (To avoid doing something that really needs to get done.) Dancing for no apparent reason. What's with that photo on the right? Being shocked and appalled every time I find that no one else will … [Read more...]
Disgusting Jelly Beans “Ew”
Has your kid ever wanted to willingly share his jelly beans with you? Probably not. If he does, I suggest you may consider saying no...especially if he is insistent! Did you know there are jelly beans that are described as skunk spray, ear wax, and booger? Oh yeah, and if your children have not had them yet ... it's just a matter of time. So, there are these little boxes of jelly beans called Bean Boozled with 20 jelly beans in a box, … [Read more...]
Tiger the Mean Cat
So...my friend called me and said, "Because we are moving, we need someone to take our cat...would you be willing to? If not,we are going to have to put her to sleep." Yeah right, how do you say no to that? Pretty sneaky of her eh? She described the cat as mean and explained that she really won't much allow anyone to pet her and that she kinda has a tendency to bite. Lovely. She also shared that she was one tough cat and had made it … [Read more...]
Peach Preserves-YUM!
Another summer memory in the making! Literally. I woke the teens up at 7:00 a.m. loaded them into the X-terra, met up with some friends, went to a nearby orchard and we picked us some yummy peaches...sticky juice running down our chins, as it is totally legal to nibble while plucking! As if that wasn't enough fun, we stopped and got some jars, a 10 lb. bag of sugar and high tailed it back to the kitchen. Oh yeah, this little Mama made some … [Read more...]
